Dear Fellow NACE Members & Event Colleagues:
It's July in the Reno-Tahoe area, and that means we are all knee deep in the busy wedding and event season! We've had a great first six months, and I am happy to say that our local chapter keeps growing everyday. We had a very successful Table Top and Confectioner's Competition in March, and an outstanding Spring Membership drive where we gained 12 new members and tied for first place nationwide for the most new members of a small chapter. So a big thank you to all of our members who help promote the growth and success of our chapter!!!
July Also means that it's time for the NACE Experience! 2010 Conference in Austin, Texas. Over 500 catering and event professionals from all over the country will gather in Austin to see lastest and greatest trends in the event and catering business. This year we're excited to have four board members attending: Chapter Vice President, Kate Kovalick, Immediate Past President, Robin Brockelsby, Membership Chair, Lisa Deleon and myself. We will also have several other chapter members attending as well. This year is very exciting for our chapter as we will be unveiling Reno-Tahoe as the destination for the Experience! 2011 Conference!
So in closing, we're off to the national conference, and can't wait to share all that we learned with all of you at the next meeting. Hope the summer is going well for everyone and look forward to seeing you at the meeting at the Resort at Squaw Creek on August 3rd!

The National Association of Catering Executives (NACE) presents Experience! 2010, July 25-28, 2010 in Austin, Texas. The nation's premier gathering of leaders in teh catering and events world on- and off-premise caterers, as well as event designers, photographers, videographers, florists, DJ's and all manner of specialists who create magical experiences for their clients.
This summer, the NACE Experience returns in an entirely new way!

A BIG CONGRATULATIONS to Lisa DeLeon from Tahoe-Reno Experience. Lisa won the NACE Scholarship to attend the upcoming 2010 NACE National conference in Austin, TX.
The Reno-Tahoe NACE Chapter is currently putting together a study group for anyone interested in taking the CPCE Exam. The CPCE "Certified Professional Catering Executive" is an internationally known educational certification. Please contact Kate Kovalick from Creative Coverings at kate@creativecoverings.com and let her know if you are interested in joining the study group and taking the exam.
