Dear Fellow NACE Members & Event Colleagues,
Can it be that winter is really gone and the summer season is upon us? I think that is a big yes and I, for one, am pretty excited about it! As we all get ready for our very busy summer wedding and event season, there are a lot of new and exciting things happening in the Reno-Tahoe NACE Chapter.
To start things off, we had a very successful spring membership drive and have added twelve new members to our chapter! Welcome to all of you! You will find all of our new fabulous members listed on the website. We also started off with a very special June meeting, hosted by Harrah’s Reno with a presentation on Social Media & Generational Mindsets by international speaker, author and marketing guru, Phil Goodman.
Make a note: We’ve also made a change to our monthly meeting schedule. Instead of every third Wednesday, we and will now meet every first Tuesday of the month. This will start next month with our networking mixer on July 6th at the Food Emporium in Reno.
In July, several of your board members and other Reno-Tahoe NACE members will head off to the National NACE Conference, Experience! 2010 in Austin, Texas. If you’re not familiar with what that is, it’s where 700-900 NACE members from all of the other 45 chapters across the country come for the latest and greatest in event trends, décor, cuisine and education. Not to mention a chance to make new friends and meet and network with some of the top professionals in our industry. But most importantly this year, we will also be unveiling Reno-Tahoe as the destination for the 2011 Experience! Conference, which is being held at the Silver Legacy. We are all very excited and honored to have been chosen to host this conference next year. It’s not too late to sign up to attend for Austin, so please let me know if you have any questions about it.
Be on the look out for our upcoming event schedule as well. Your board has been working hard to create bigger and better events!
So before I close this, you all know how passionate I am about NACE and how I'm always telling you what being involved has done for me both personally and professionally. But what does involvement really mean, what’s in it for you? To start, when joining NACE, you instantly become part of a national network of professionals who do what you do, and who can offer support and ideas. Your local chapter offers monthly meetings that feature renowned speakers, educational programs, idea sharing and networking. Through your involvement, you'll have an opportunity be apart of the growing and phenomenal event community in the Reno-Tahoe area and voice your opinion about issues that affect you locally and nationally. Therefore, your involvement is at the very heart of what Reno-Tahoe NACE is all about -- learning, sharing and growing.
That said, I hope this finds you all doing well and I wish you a very busy and prosperous summer event season! Hope to see you all at the Mixer on July 6th at the Food Emporium!
All My Best,
Robin L.Eissinger
Reno-Tahoe NACE President
