President's Report:

WHOOOO!!!!  CONGRATULATIONS TO ALL ON GETTING THROUGH THE BUSY SUMMER SEASON!  I am truly sorry for missing out on the Presidents Message for August, but, like so many of you - duty called and it was busy at work!

The NACE National Conference in North Carolina was so much fun.  Despite the bad economy more than 500 Event People were in attendance.  A great bonding time for our Reno-Tahoe Chapter with myself, Kate Kovalick from the Silver Legacy and Julie Nobis from Red Carpet Events and Design.  CONGRATULATIONS TO RENO-LAKE TAHOE & THE SILVER LEGACY - We have won the bid for the 2011 NACE National Conference to come here.  This will be the biggest FAM trip our area has ever seen, with more than 800 Event Planners and Professionals expected to attend

There are so many exciting NACE things that you can read about in this September NACE Newsletter, including: Upcoming Board Elections, the NACE National Conference in North Carolina, the Upcoming Annual Tabletop Competition, Reno-Tahoe Winning the Bid to host the 2011 NACE National Conference, The FALL Membership Campaign and some great upcoming tradeshows that shouldn't be missed.

We have a fabulous NACE meeting planned next Wednesday, September 16th at Boomtown.  The meeting on Etiquette is being presented by certified Wedding Planners, Lori Cramer and Felicia Gantar.  The meeting will include a wonderful 3-course meal provided by Boomtown Catering, and a video presentation by Ever After Creations, Video and Design - (much thanks Craig & Vickie Musni).  This will be a great opportunity to network, learn and have fun with fellow Event Colleagues and Professionals.  I can't wait to see you all there.

Happy September Everyone.

Upcoming Events:

UPCOMING ELECTIONS FOR THE 2010 RENO-TAHOE NACE BOARD

As the Reno-Tahoe NACE Chapter continues to grow and develop, we have a need for many more positions on our Board.  This is a great way to develop relationships with some of the top Event Planners and Professionals in our town.  Some of the positions require more work than others.  Here are just a few of the positions we are looking to fill in 2010.

Membership Chair,  Raffle Chair,  PR & Social Networking Chair,  Website Chair,  Event Professional Representative  & Secretary.

In addition to the above mentioned positions, we are currently seeking a non-partisan/non-board member who can act as our Election Chair.  This person will be responsible for disiminating information about the various available positions to anyone who is interested, as well as counting the ballots at our November Meeting Elections.

If you are interested in any of the Board Positions, or have any questions about them, please call Robin Brockelsby at 775-359-6733 or Robin Eissinger (Harrah's/Harvey's Lake Tahoe) at 775-7586-5094
