It was so great to see such a strong start to our NACE year here in  Reno Tahoe.   Our January meeting was a hit and thanks to our speaker Robert Fountain, of Robert Fountain Design in San Francisco, we all walked away with some new design ideas to sell to our event clients. 

You won't want to miss our upcoming meeting.  Its all about traditions.  Knowing specific traditions can make our break an event if you are putting together an Indian or Jewish wedding, Quincinera or Bar/Bat Mitvah.  Make sure to RSVP for this one!!!

I, along with many of our fellow NACE members from around the country just returned from an amazing week in San Diego at The Special Event Show.  The show was full of education for event planners and providers.  AMAZING is all I can say.  The education was great, the tradeshow was packed with different vendors from around the country and the evening events were amazing.  If  you couldn't make it this year, try to calendar it for next year.  Next years TSE is in New Orleans from January 13-15th.

If you are looking for something a little closer to home, The Catersource/Event Solutions Show is just around the corner February 23-25 in Las Vegas.  This is one of the fastest growing shows in the United States and offers a great opportunity to find new vendors in all facets of the event industry from Food Service to lighting, decor, entertainment (event vendors who provide vehicles for Catering Companies).  If you are interested in attending, visit www.catersource.com or www.event-solutions.com for more information.

On February 20-22, three members from our Reno-Tahoe NACE Chapter will be traveling to Las Vegas to attend the NACE National Leadership Summit.  Nearly 70 NACE members from around the country will be at this event to learn more about making our own chapter stronger.

On one final note!!! A BIG CONGRATULATIONS goes our to our very own Reno-Tahoe Chapter.  During the NACE National Membership Drive, we came in first for new members in a small chapter.  We were awarded a FREE membership at the upcoming NACE National Conference, which will take place in July in Charlotte, NC.  This is a great educational conference, that no one should miss.
