Meetings and Events with the Reno Tahoe NACE Chapter just seem to be getting better and better.   Each property that hosts an event, has been setting the bar higher and higher.  If you unable to attend the South Lake Tahoe dine around, hosted by Harrah's, Harvey's and Embassy Suites...then you missed out!  The event was amazing.  The food and beverage presentation at Harrah's, Cabo Wabo at Harvey's and dessert at Embassy Suites was phenomenol, along with a great presentation by Steve Lowe and Paul Elbogen from Harrah's/Harvey's and presentation by Thrans Flowers.

Our next event, Christmas in November will become an annual fundraising event.  This years event is featuring a Tabletop Competition.  Some of Northern Nevada's Top Event Designers will be competiting against each other to be Crowned, Tabletop Designer of the Year.  Make sure to attend this event at the Reno Sparks Convention Center, it features Jeff Leep and the Worlds Most DANGEROUS Party Band, and I can guarantee that you will walk away with table design ideas you never thought were possible for a party!

Our annual membership drive is going strong.  I am pleased to welcome our newest member, Jo Shaw of Reno Photobooth.  The membership drive has been extended until December 31.  Save $50 off your membership by joining before the end of the year  (additional savings are also available for multi-member discounts).

We are looking for a few more strong members to participate on our Board.  If you have some interest in getting more involved with some amazing Event Professionals, please let us know.  The more you put into the association, the more you will get out of it.

CATERING / CONVENTION SERVICES MANAGER NEEDED

The Silver Legacy Resort Casino is currently seeking adynamic and highly motivated Catering and Convention Services Manager.

Qualified candidates must have previous eperience in a high volume establishment, excellent communication skills and a solid sales background while presenting a professional image at all times.  A strong background in Food an dBeverage is preferable.

This position is responsible for all aspects of planning, oversight and post conference follow-up for convention sales groups and social catering functions
