President's Report:

Let me first start by saying CONGRATULATIONS TO THE NEWLY AND OFFICIALLY CHARTERED RENO TAHOE NACE CHAPTER!!!

As the busy summer event season comes to an end, I am sure everyone is a little tired and ready to spend some time relaxing and re-cooping before we all get ready to dive into Christmas and New Years Season.

We have had a busy and great month with NACE.  The NACE Conference in Philadelphia August 3-6th was full of fun, education and an opportunity to meet more than 700 event professionals from across the country.    The Reno Tahoe Chapter had a great group in Philadelphia representing us (Jeremy Miller of Best Bet Entertainment, Tiffany Zabaglo of Embassy Suites, Robin Brockelsby of Creative Coverings, Josanne Dolley of Creative Coverings, & Anthony Avery of A&A Music and Events).  Congratulations to Tiffany Zabaglo from Embassy Suites in Lake Tahoe who won the "Presidents Choice Award", and to Anthony Avery who was elected as the National Event Professional Representative.  We listed to many great speakers, including Mindy Weiss, Event Planner to the Stars (she has planned weddings for Christina Aguillera and Eva Longori) and Walter Scheib, Executive Chef to the Bush Family (when they were in the White House).

The Reno Tahoe NACE Chapter is going strong.  Membership is increasing, but we are still looking for more members.  Programs are going great.  This months meeting at the Atlantis is going to be great.  The Atlantis will be offering an amazing menu as well as wine and champagne.  Upcoming programs are going strong.  Please let us know if you are interested in hosting a meeting in 2009.  We are looking forward to our October Dine Around event, which will be at Harrah's and Harvey's in Lake Tahoe, as well as our Christmas in November event to be held at the Tannenbaum Lodge.

Have a great month and I can't wait to see you at the Atlantis on September 17th.
