There are so many new and exciting things to report with our chapter.  With 26 new local members and growing monthly, The Reno-Tahoe NACE Chapter will be recognized by the National Association of Catering Executives at the upcoming National Conference August 3-6 in Philadelphia, PA.  There will be 6 people attending the conference from our Chapter (two of whom will be going with scholarship money provided by the RenoTahoe Chapter, along with a donation from Anthony Avery of A&A Music and Events)  The establishment of this local chapter makes it the first National Professional Catering Association to hit Northern Nevada.  For more information on the NACE National Conference, please visit the national website at www.nace.net.

The website is finally here!  As our new RenoTahoe NACE Chapter continues to grow, we are so excited about the addition of our new website.  This will be a place that anyone interested in learning about the event industry in Reno-Tahoe can visit at any time.  We welcome your comments on the website, as well as any classified ads you would like us to mention.

Much thanks to Mary Starley, and her Catering Team at the Peppermill Resort and Casino for hosting our June meeting.  Bob Ellsworth of ACE Casino Events gave an informative presentation on R&R (No Risk with Great Rewards).  All who were in attendance, learned the "ins and outs" of Planning a Casino  Style Gaming Event in a Casino Town.

CATERING / CONVENTION SERVICES MANAGER NEEDED

The Silver Legacy Resort Casino is currently seeking adynamic and highly motivated Catering and Convention Services Manager.

Qualified candidates must have previous eperience in a high volume establishment, excellent communication skills and a solid sales background while presenting a professional image at all times.  A strong background in Food an dBeverage is preferable.

This position is responsible for all aspects of planning, oversight and post conference follow-up for convention sales groups and social catering functions
